Bisley Office Furniture re-launches in Sweden at The Stockholm Furniture Fair with refreshed colours and innovative design

Bisley, the leading British steel storage manufacturer, is bringing its famous design-classic back to the forefront – the Bisley Multidrawer at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, 7th to 11th February 2012, in a new partnership with Deskstore, Sweden.

The small steel storage unit with multiple drawers dates back to the early 50’s, when the demand for easily accessible, ‘close at hand’ storage was first articulated by The Metropolitan Police, leading to the creation of the first steel Multidrawer units in the Surrey factory. The range was initially very modest in terms of sizes and colours, becoming more and more popular but still predominantly within the basic office supplies market.

It wasn’t until the late 80’s/early 90’s when a group of enthusiastic, young German designers re-invented the product and helped give the Multidrawer ‘a completely new life’. Strong contemporary colours, glass tops, and coordination within modern minimalist interiors allowed the “Magaziners” to turn the Multidrawer into a real interior design icon.

To further strengthen its appeal, Bisley has recently added several vibrant tones to the colour palette which will all be displayed at the Deskstore stand (A05:04).The Malmo-based company specialising in stationery and gift products has added Multidrawers to its wide portfolio of high end design products and made them available to Swedish consumers through an extensive network of retailers.
